My car doesn't start... again... This time it is not the ignition. My guess is it is the battery. I called the road service and waiting for them to come. Maybe I should learn from them how to jump-start.
あーあ。って英語でなんていうんだろう。

Now I am seriously thinkning of selling the car. I've exhausted my patience(堪忍袋の緒が切れた). I've just had enough. Right now American automobile companies are selling cars at unusual bargain price. For me there is no wonder they are forced to do this. Simply, their cars are not good.

ブログをサーチしてみた。オレと同じ経験をしている人がいる。I need a reliable car too!
However, I must confess that I have not been happy with my Focus. The brakes are substandard - I had to replace them at 17,000 miles and they are already squealing again at 32,000. And after being stranded three times by my ignition simply *not working*, they finally replaced my entire ingnition system, including new keys. I need a reliable car, and this car is a piece of crap. So for my next car, I hope to find an affordable and *reliable* P-ZEV that actually looks good.

Out of Focus
For the second time this year, the ignition cylinder on my Ford Focus has broken, meaning the steering wheel is locked and the car cannot be started. I've just had it towed to the local service center, and I won't get it back until this evening at the earliest.
In February, it cost me almost $300 to get it fixed. Happily, that work was given a full warrantee, so this time around it should cost me nothing. It is still damned inconvenient though, and this kind of thing shouldn't happen so often.

I had to shove the key in the ignition, which wasn't a good sign, and then the key just wouldn't turn. This has happened in the past, but usually a few good stern yoinks on the key and the thing will turn. No such luck here.

...これってリコール対象なんじゃないのか? ふつう。
朝日新聞に新型フォードフォーカス日本でも発売なんて書いてあったが買うのはやめておいたほうがいいと思う。だいたい200万円台とか書いてあった。びっくりしたよ。

Yesterday my wife's friends from Nagasaki came here to visit her. I had planned to take them to a jazz club tonight, but I might have to reconsider the plan.

Also yesterday there was a get-together of Japanese post-docs in our Building at a pub. It was a delightful evening. All of them except me were physiologists. I wouldn't have had a chance to meet many of them in Japan. This is one of the nice things about staying in the states.
